I struggle with some of the words around transparency.
Transparency is more than telling people what happens, it’s building trust, comforting people in knowing that you are on top of it, as a leader. It’s sharing the possible outcomes, the concerns and the pivots they are preparing for. It’s letting you know, as the person being supported, that you are heard and that the path to those solution are in service of your ideas, thoughts, needs, etc.[1]
So many leaders think that just because they know they are on it, they are being transparent.
or at least a reasoning to why you are wrong or misinterpreting things, but the essence of what you are needing support on is handled. ↩︎
