I think about my filmmaking degree, a lot more than I thought I would. As colleagues get laid off, organizations re-shuffle, I disagree with my cross-functional partners, timezones suck, etc. I think about how I could shift to film. There is no money in it for me, that is the unfortunate part, but there is a part of me that would love to get involved with some small productions, whatever it is, editing, film/camera work, producing and planning.
Lately I have been having more and more ideas around creativity, and they are all sort of varied. I want to make beats, I want to create some things in 3D and print them out on my printer. I want to stop organizing photos and what not… That is coming I feel, I need to organize my music next, but at the same time there is no rush.
Back to film, in the town that I live in there is the National Film and Television School (nfts.co.uk). We don’t live far from Pinewood Studios (Star Wars, James Bond, Marvel movies) and Warner Brothers is a quick jump on the highway.
Nothing will probably come of it, but there is an open eye and energy being spent thinking about it. Maybe if I get made redundant and if there is a gap I’ll pursue it.
